Lawyer Referral Service Referrals welcome! If a client comes to you with a matter outside of your areas of expertise OR in a county or state where you don’t practice, please send them to us! The client is charged a $25 placement fee and we will refer them to a local attorney. Through our Lawyer Referral Service (“LRS”) program we match potential clients with St. Joseph County Bar Association attorney with cases involving administrative law, bankruptcy, business, criminal law, employment and labor, environmental law, estate planning and administration, family law, health care, intellectual property, litigation, mediation, real estate law, and others. Free Mediation Services The Notre Dame Law School is offering free mediation services on a limited number of cases this semester as part of an Applied Mediation course. Clinical Associate Professor Michael Jenuwine, certified as both a civil and a domestic relations mediator in Indiana, will supervise the participants of this program. Advanced law students will co-mediate, either with Professor Jenuwine or another registered mediator from the Notre Dame Legal Aid Clinic. If you have either a civil or domestic relations case that you would like to schedule for mediation through the end of calendar year 2008, please call 574.631.7795 while spots are still available.
Red Mass Most Rev. John M. D'Arcy, Bishop of Fort Wayne-South Bend, and the Notre Dame Law School invite all lawyers, judges and civil government officials of our community to the annual Red Mass. This ancient custom marks the opening of the judicial year by invoking divine guidance and strength on all those who serve the law. The Red Mass will take place at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, on the campus of the University of Notre Dame, on October 12, 2008 at 10 AM.
